Company collaborates with IKAR on CREORA® EasyFlex Elastane seamless bodywear collection March 12, 2026; Seoul South Korea – With the focus on soft stretch for exceptional comfort and superior performance, Hyosung TNC looks forward to presenting fiber innovations that capture this growing trend in activewear and bodywear markets at Performance Days Munich this March 18-19. Featured will be the company’s CREORA® EasyFlex Elastane. Designed for comfort, CREORA® EasyFlex Elastane provides four-way stretch, gentle support, and a second-skin feel against the body. Unlike conventional elastane, it enhances ease of movement in everyday essential from hosiery and socks to underwear, leggings, and activewear. Thanks to its excellent recovery and shape stability, CREORA® EasyFlex also ensures size inclusivity, with one size comfortably fitting a variety of body types. A dyeable version is also available, ensuring superior color consistency and reduced grin-through. To support brands and retailers in developing garments that follow the comfort powered by performance trend, Hyosung TNC has collaborated with IKAR, a global leader in textile development that provides apparel design and manufacturing solutions, to develop a seamless active and bodywear collection powered by CREORA® EasyFlex that will be featured at the company’s booth. From Nature to Performance Fiber – regen® BIO Elastane At Performance Days, Hyosung TNC will share the latest developments with its new regen™ BIO Elastane derived from sugarcane. Production of the low-impact fiber will commence next month (April 2026), a major development that began in 2024 with the company’s $1 billion investment in a new bio BDO plant in Vietnam near its established elastane manufacturing facility. BDO (Butanediol) is a chemical traditionally made from non-renewable resources used to make PTMG, the key raw material used in elastane. In partnership with Geno, a sustainable materials leader, Hyosung TNC can now produce bio BDO directly from sugarcane through a one step process that replaces fossil fuel consumption and reduces carbon emissions. “With this development, Hyosung TNC is the first to establish the world’s only vertically integrated production system from bio-based BDO to bio-based spandex ensuring reliable production and supply stability without compromising the fiber’s performance”, said Sora Yoo, Vice President Marketing, Hyosung TNC. The company’s bio BDO facility has an annual production capacity of up to 50,000 tons of bio-BDO, with the potential to scale up to 200,000 tons per year over time. In terms of transparency and traceability, the sugarcane feedstock, sourced from Brazil, is verified under the VIVE Program. A full LCA for the new product will be available later in 2026. Last fall, Hyosung TNC and Lenzing Group collaborated on a yoga collection made with regen™ BIO Elastane and with various blends of Lenzing’s TENCEL™ and ECOVERO™ made with REFIBRA™ technology and Hyosung TNC’s certified regen® BIO Elastane partly made with renewable resources along with certified 100% recycled regen™ Elastane. Concept garments and fabrics made with these innovative fibers will be presented at the show. 효성티앤씨, 친환경에 ‘한 발짝 더’ - 북미 페트 칩 생산 선도기업 루프인더스트리, 에코 패션 브랜드 플리츠마마와 협업 - 기존 소재인 투명 폐트병 대신 폐섬유로 페트 칩 만들어 원사 뽑아내고 가방 제작까지 - 김치형 대표, “고객의 지속 가능성 목표 달성 지원하고 차세대 친환경 솔루션 확대” 효성티앤씨가 루프인더스트리, 플리츠마마와 함께 폐섬유에서 원사를 뽑아내 가방을 제작했다.3사는 기존에 주로 사용되어온 소재인 투명 페트병 대신 폐섬유를 재활용해 페트(PET) 칩을 만들고 폴리에스터 원사를 뽑아낸데 더해 패션 제품까지 제작함으로써 친환경 솔루션 분야에서 한 발짝 더 앞서가게 됐다. 효성티앤씨, 루프인더스트리·플리츠마마와 3자 협업 효성티앤씨는 캐나다 페트 칩 생산 기업 루프인더스트리사(社), 국내 에코 패션 브랜드 플리츠마마와 협업해 친환경 가방을 제작했다고 24일 밝혔다. 스위스 러닝화 브랜드 ‘온(On)’, 프랑스 화장품 브랜드 ‘록시땅(L’Occitane)’ 등 유명 브랜드와의 협업을 통해 자원 순환 역량을 강화해온 루프인더스트리는 이번 효성티앤씨와의 협업을 통해 폴리에스터 섬유 생산에도 기여하게 됐다. 루프인더스트리는 북미 지역에서 의류 원사나 플라스틱 용기의 원재료가 되는 페트 칩 개발과 생산을 선도하는 기업이다. 페트 칩의 주요 소재는 투명 페트병이지만, 루프인더스트리는 투명 폐트병 외에 섬유를 포함한 다양한 페트 폐기물을 100% 화학적으로 재활용해 고품질의 페트 칩을 생산한다. 효성티앤씨는 이번에 루프인더스트리가 폐섬유 폴리에스터로 만든 페트 칩, 일명 ‘텍스타일 리사이클(T2T: Textile to Textile)’ 칩을 활용해 폴리에스터 원사를 뽑아냈고, 플리츠마마는 이 원사를 활용해 심미성과 실용성을 겸비한 친환경 가방을 디자인하고 제작했다. 탄소 저감 효과 큰 T2T 칩으로 생산한 원사로 패션 제품 제작 이번 협업은 탄소 저감 효과가 뛰어난 T2T 재활용 기술을 바탕으로 ‘원료 공급-원사 가공-패션 제품 제작’ 공급망을 완성했다는 점에서 의의가 크다. 막대한 섬유 폐기물을 소각하고 매립하는 과정에서 배출되는 탄소는 전 세계적으로 심각한 골칫거리가 되어왔다. 루프인더스트리는 폐 폴리에스터를 소각·매립장으로 보내는 대신 높은 품질의 페트 칩으로 재탄생시킴으로써 섬유 폐기물 문제를 완화하는 동시에 글로벌 섬유 산업에 지속 가능한 대안을 제시했다. 루프인더스트리의 T2T 칩은 화석연료에서 생산되는 페트 칩에 비해 온실가스 배출량을 최대 80%, 에너지 소비량을 최대 91% 줄이는 것으로 조사됐다. 김치형 대표, “차세대 친환경 솔루션 확대” 효성티앤씨는 이번 협업으로 리사이클 섬유 시장 활성화는 물론 의류 폐기물에서부터 리사이클 제품 생산에 이르는 진정한 의미의 자원 순환을 통해 친환경 섬유 시장 리더로서의 입지를 강화할 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다. 김치형 효성티앤씨 대표이사는 “자원 순환 경제는 효성티앤씨가 지속 가능한 소재 리젠을 중심으로 가장 선도적으로 리드하고 있는 분야”라며, 이번 협업을 통해 고객의 지속 가능성 목표 달성을 지원하고 차세대 친환경 솔루션을 더욱 확대할 계획”이라고 말했다.(끝)
